My name is Dwight and I am the head instructor at Patriot Jiu-Jitsu. I’m glad and very excited to have the opportunity to share my Jiu-Jitsu with you and show you what it has given me. I’ve been a competitor and instructor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu academy. This was a great benefit for me as they are among the top 10 in the world, not only in competition but also in training and coaching as well.

Since moving out here to Parowan, UT, I’ve seen what a great need there is for something like Jiu-Jitsu; both for kids and adults as well. Not just for the sport, the exercise and the fun and games. But I believe Jiu-Jitsu, much like the military forms one of the greatest family bonds and creates the strongest kind of camaraderie between coaches, training partners and teammates. In this time that we live in I believe there is nothing more important than creating ways of bringing the people of the community together. Building each other up and helping each other solve problems together as our own Jiu-Jitsu family is what we stand for. Which is why we are Patriot Jiu-Jitsu, a family of people who love God, America and Jiu-Jitsu.

Having been born and raised in poor South East Asian countries and then serving in the US Marine Corps as an Infantryman/Spec Ops(Amphibious Raids), I have been blessed to see the many freedoms afforded to us in this great nation. I started Patriot Jiu-Jitsu not only as a way to share my Jiu-Jitsu, have fun and get a great work out. But also as a way to help many Patriots who think like I do, to come together and help to unite our communities and bring the focus back to what really matters; The People.

For many active duty servicemembers, first responders, and veterans, finding a way to deal with what they’ve experienced can be extremely difficult. With all the noise from politics, the media and the “lockdowns”, as well as forced “social distancing”; it can be even more difficult to reach someone who can help these Heroes. At Patriot Jiu-Jitsu all of our students and coaching staff understand the importance of our military, police officers, first responders, and Patriots who put themselves in harms way, saving and protecting lives every day. Ask us about our Mission 22 program and our military/first responder discounts when you call or come in. We look forward to seeing you on the mats. Oss!
